Thanks to their massive amount of military strength, The League corporations are in control of the planet's infrastructure and their people are living in the air to avoid the contamination. The ORCA, forced to live on the surface of the polluted planet, organized the resistance and have amassed a formidable arsenal. As a mercenary armed with cutting edge military robot technology, choose your side and defeat the other factions by taking on GIANT Mechanical weapons.
本作是日本机器人动作代表作，《装甲核心》系列登陆次世代主机的第二部作品，游戏继承前作的机体、零件与徽章等数据，并收录新机体与加倍的零件数。加入比玩家所驾驶的 AC 机体大上数百倍的敌对超巨大兵器「ARMS FORT」，以及可让 AC 机体以时速 2000 公里超高速移动的「VOB」推进器等新要素，提供崭新的游戏体验。因为前作需要赶时间发售，所以制作方没有充足的时间制作更多的单人任务内容，在本作中制作方承诺将大量加强单机部分的内容，并且本次将允许玩家合作完成任务！按照惯例，在本作中也增加了全新的机体，不过本次出现的是全长超过7公里的巨型兵器！玩家在攻略时可以选择进入其内部进行破坏，或者在外面对其装备进行各个击破。此外，也追加了大量全新的AC和可变形AC。
