本作是超人气少年漫画《火影忍者》的又一款同名改编游戏。作为系列第二作，游戏开发将继续交由CyberConnect2负责，故事以《火影忍者 疾风传》为背景，并同时登陆PS3和X360平台，预定2010年秋季发售。Namco Bandai公司毫无疑问会对旗下的《火影忍者 究极风暴》开发续作，而且这一次NBGI似乎还有了新的计划。《火影忍者：究极忍者风暴2》不仅会对一些特性进行改进，比如增加4玩家支持，而且还在平台发展上有了新的打算。游戏卡通风格的画面。本作继承了《火影忍者 究极风暴》全3D和HD画面的特性，并且在战斗方式上采取队友合作的模式。此外，剧情和任务也有可能获得新的拓展。
