《生化奇兵2》由2K Marin开发，是一代的正统续作。前作深刻的剧情，丰富的武器和精细的画面将得到保留和强化。这次《生化奇兵2》的一大特征就是让玩家化身为前作的死敌，重返海底城Rapture。故事发生在前作的10年之后，大西洋沿岸又发生了怪物绑架小女孩的离奇事件，接续者仍然存活在海底城，但却发生幸存者不断地彼此进行消耗战，战争持续地在海底爆发，小妹妹在城市中游走、不断地利用大型注射器从尸体上搜集遗传物质、转化取得亚当。玩家扮演的是头一款成功运作的试作型Big Daddy，在一代故事的十年后，被Tenenbaum重新唤醒，探索围绕着海底城市的种种谜团。和量产型号不同，玩家所扮演的试作型Big Daddy（实验体Delta）拥有自主意识。玩家能够使用Big Daddy的招牌武器──钻头与铆钉枪（rivet gun），钻头除了拥有强大的近身破坏力，光靠钻头旋转时发出的巨响就能吓跑落单的Splicer。
